A Real Bad Start To A Day

Well with all the reccession going on and the constant bad news and the daily grind to work and with all the clowns on the road that cannot drive.

So here i am ****ty day, ****ty mood and driving to work, decided to take the Naas road into town and come off at kylemore, however whilst passing over the red cow, there is a slight left bend as you come off.

here i am at 50mph in the middle lane and some clown decides to pull out out in front of me with no use of indicator, o.k i thought, so i ease off the accelarator and forgive the clown, who then decides the traffic has stopped dead ahead and slams on the brakes, leaving me no where to go, cant go left or right due to traffic.
so here i am hard on the brakes thinking what the F**K are you doing man.

Its too late as i slow to a mere 10MPH and then await the crunch sound as the car skids to a premature halt, wallop head in hands thinking the day as not started yet and its going great already.

i calmy put on the hazards in rush hour traffic and meet the old boy that i hit, i ask if he is o.k, he says yeah i am fine, we inspect the damage.

oh my god not a even a scratch on his jeep, but the poor Micra faired a little less, here i am damaged bonnet bent in and not closing correctly, damaged grill smashed cracked bumper and damaged paint work and a fu*k*d number plate and he then decides to apologise.

I ask why he feels the need to apologise when i clearly hit him?
Then i asked would he be apologising that 1, he was speeding, 2. no indicator used to let other motorists know his intentions to change lane late, 3. no rear brake lights working?

enough said, he apologised for his mistakes, and thats that, a start to s a crap day and bad mood, so now i incurr all costs for his recklessness and my stupidity for not judging the stopping distance for the speed i was travelling.

aw sorry, thats crap..listen,its friday, sun is goin to shine this weekend and just be grateful that you didnt damage his jeep cause even tho you kno it was his fault u could have gotten stuck with payin for his damages too!

tbf tho..maybe this is gods way of telling you he hates micra's..:P

Wouldn't the fact that he is driving a car that is not NCT passable mean he incurs the costs?

OP, sorry to hear about your troubles. I was in a car accident too this week. It was the end of the day for me. Driving back from work, a car two cars ahead of me made a sudden right turn into a driveway. The two cars in front of me stopped short, I stopped short - the person behind me wasn't paying attention and rammed into my car so hard I thought I was going to hit the person in front of me.
She totalled her own car (which had to be towed) and did about $3,000 worth of damage on mine - smashed in the bumper, took the trunk out of alignment, damaged the exhaust pipe. I'm in a rental now and probably will be for the next 4 weeks.
But her insurance is paying for it so I guess I can't complain too loudly.
It is such a headache though!
