I was just using my laptop as normal, then suddenly a blue screen with loads of text came up and basically said it was goin to crash or shut down or something, but basically said this was for my computers own good?

Thats not the exact way it said it obviously, but thats what i gathered from the few seconds i had to read the screen!

Anyone able to gimme an idea as to why/how this happened?

Is it part of a bigger problem, or just something that happens every now and again?

No idea what the problem is without the error message or stop code. If we had that we could give you a better idea of what's wrong. It may not be anything serious though. Try turning it back on and see what happens.

It seems to be working ok again now, was just wondering what might have been the cause of it. Its never happened me with any previous laptops or computers like!

If it happens again ile keep an eye out for some more useful information so!

    thanks!

No bother. I've had blue screens before and had the computer work fine for ages without any hitches so it could be a once off. Hopefully so.

I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Windows can give you this blue screen for a number of reasons.

    Hardware problems,
    Programs causing major memory issues,
The system getting a bad command that it cant recover from.

Usually, it's caused by something trying to access the same hardware device while something else is trying to use it without allowing for problems.
