Laptop confusion

Hi everyone kinda new to boards and coming here for advice.

I'm planning to buy a laptop soon, hopefully within a few weeks and have been considering these two Dells

In this one I will keep base package but take Vista 64 bit and WSXGA resolution screen plus the student Office package

For this package I plan to do a similar setup. Selected the highest resolution screen, 64 bit Vista and 9 cell battery.


Both are therefore very close in specs, I have a greater leaning towards the Studio 17 laptop above due to the higher res screen as I do alot of photography. My main concern is the processor, I'd imagine the one in the Studio is better also?

I plan to do a course in Multimedia or games development next year.
Which of these laptops would be best equipped?

Not sure about those two but I bought a Dell Inspiron for my Dad 6 months ago and the fan was very intrusive so avoided buying it for myself when I bought a laptop two months ago.
