    Hi Kala,

Just did my test there yesterday in Portlaoise. The route we took was, leave the test centre and turn left, then left up the Mountrath road. Past centrepoint shopping centre and then right onto the new ring road at the roundabout. down to the Ballyfin road (This is where I did the reverse around the corner)
Then down to the mountmellick road and right towards town. We turned left just after Dunnes Stores and at the top of that road turned right. Then just down past teh leisure centre and right at the roundabout left up towards the town (just at the Company hairdressers) and then down main street from there.
At the roundabouts at the church, had to turn right. (Now this is where I failed - there was loads of traffic but the yellow box was clear. However I couldn't see traffic coming from my left. I just went through the yellow box without looking for cars coming from the left. If you are doing this route and there is loads of traffic inch forward until you can see the traffic on the left and then go. That's what the tester said I should have done. He was sound about it)
Anywho, then we went up JFL Avenue, at the roundabout turned left onto the Abbeyleix road. Up to teh roundabout at the GAA pitch and right onto clonminham. Just past Bowe's furniture turned left an ddid the turn about there.

Then out again left up past Telfords adn right onto the road leading to Marian Avenue. (With hte bumps) Right turn into Marian Avenue through the estate, left onto the abbeyleix road and then left into the test centre.

ANother one that my instructor brought me on was:

left out of the test centre straight through the roundabout at the top square. Right down towards the train station then left at teh roundabout at the cinema. past teh brother's school and then left at teh roundabout at the top. Up into St. Brigids for the Hill start and then back down into Doctor Murphy's place. Turn right onto the Borris road and up to the church. left at the church up the Dublin road. Then go as far as the Block road, right turn - continue to the stradbally road. Reverse and turnabout in one of the estates there (Sorry can't remember the name) then back down towards the town. Up to clonminham and the road with teh ramps again.

continue past Marian avenue and go out to the Mountrath road and then at the top square you go right. then right again in to th test centre.

    Hpe this helps a little

    God luck

Sorry for bad spelling - that's meant to be Good Luck. Also PM me if you want any more detail. I have presumed you know Portlaoise fairly well with my directions.
