    shouldn't be aired

I reckon it's OK. The UK govt. will probably put an old "side-effects may include death" warning somewhere in there.

I don't like 'pro-lifers' but I absolutely hate Pharma companies, so I agree that this is bad

Wouldn't Sunday morning be the best time to air it?

No harm in it. I heart that pill.

As long as the ads meet any relevant standards I think it's fine

Not sure I'd be a fan of an ad selling the pill, but I'd be all for a more informative style ad.

LONDON - The UK's first television ad for the morning-after pill is to be screened tonight sparking outrage
from some pro-life groups. The ad for Bayer Schering Pharma's Levonelle One Step morning-after pill will be broadcast after the 9pm watershed
across a range of channels including ITV, Channel 4 and Sky.

Translation; No complaints from normal people.

Makes sense. If the ad works it'll save the government millions.

Yeah because THAT'S the only time people would ever use it

Nah. It's mostly used when the condom bursts or slips off or a myriad of other things... one night stands are probably not one of the main reasons to use it.

Well, if it is an easy way out, then that'd be false advertising.

    condoms are manslaughter

Excuse my ignorance but how does the Morning after pill work? Does it render the uterus wall where the zygote (newly fused egg and sperm) implants into or does it stop the Egg and Sperm from joining? I always thought it took the little swimmers like a day to make it the to egg meaning they would not have joined?

I always prefer Condoms at least that way I won't catch the clap from whoever I manage to seduce* to my boudoir.

    *your mileage may vary.

Heres a complicated explanation, at least some of which may need explainig....
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_contraception

However its clear they don't work by turning into one of those little "sea monkeys" they used advertise in the magazines, which then goes forth with its trusty club and bashes the evil Zygote before it can wreak any damage. Which is dissapointing, in some ways.

Seriously though I dont know why there's such fuss about the morning after pill.

Condoms do effectively kill millions of sperm. Where do you daw the line? What's killing and what isn't? How come its bad after fertilisation has occurred and not before? Think of the child that the sperm killed by a condom could have made....how is the morning after pill any worse?

There's no fuss, that's the point. It was a slow news day.
I won't catch the clap from whoever I manage to seduce

Bit of a myth I'm afraid. Condoms can't completely prevent all fluid transfer, just like a raincoat won't stop you getting wet if you fall into a swimming pool. You're still in contact with the area etc etc.

Thar be fuss alright. I've had friends go to the nurse to get it and be treated like a murderer. It is very frowned upon in Oirland.

Any nurse or doctor who tried to shame me for ANY of my family planning decisions would have me requesting their superior to bring me a complaints form. And I wouldn't move from where I was until it happened.
