    Guys if i buy an iphone here and get it unlocked on 2.2 by a place in tallaght what am i loosing out on by doing this.i know i cant update but what would i be loosing out on update wise?

    I have an iphone 3g with v2.2 and I don't think I'm loosing much, I know couple of Apps require you have 2.2.1 install to run, other than that I don't think I'm loosing anything else.

    Why pay someone getting the phone unlock if you can do it yourself unless is using 1 of those SIM adapters.

    You will need to Jailbreak it 1st, have a look at the Iclarified.com website, they have lots of tutorials on how to do it, after done you will need to install Yellowsn0w and that will unlock it.
