I have asked before if we could have a dedicated falcory forum for us to share our 'hunting' and other experiences. I wonder if its possible someone can advise how we (there are loads of us!) can get to stay under the hunting forum, but have our own set of threads.

Anyone out there to help or explain why not! PLEASE!!
    David

JW, Thanks, it is as you say the purist, combines livestock management, testing human abilities and its difficult to describe the 'smack' when the prey is caught. Mail me and I'll sort out a day of hunting when 'herself' has come out of the moult, possibly around mid June. Where are you in Wexford (or are you the JW we all know and love!!).

Would love to see a falconry forum. Was going to buy a hawk a couple of years ago but decided against it as i did not have the knowledge at the time. It always amazes me to see them birds in action. Beautiful to watch.

I agree, would love to see this included. I would love to photograph the fella in action as well but Wexford is a tad to far at the moment......

    Trojan,
Where abouts are you? I may be able to put you in touch with someone local who can pose for you!

All, As one of the gang suggested, I have dropped a note to one of our super generous fantastic luvly Mods and hope to hear back soon about getting a falconry forum included. I would prefer under hunting (which it is, but located within 'shooting' - not sure) if poss, if not it may have to go under general sports heading.
    Cheers,
    David

One of the most fantastic things I've seen was a sparrowhawk take a woodpidgeon outside my office window. You'd think a cannon ball had hit the pidgeon, there were feathers spread for yards. I'd love to see some falconry vids here.

+1. I was out shooting one day with a friend when we seen two big birds of prey. They were a good bit apart but calling to each other. They were hovering over a field below us after rabbits. I dont know what they were but the two of us just stood there in awe. Amazing birds.

I had the pleasure of watching nature in action last year when a sparrowhawk tried to lift a pigeon from the road. Cars were stopped to allow this fella try to lift his catch.

Unfortunately he was only able to lift it slightly and gave the appearance of a hovercraft skimming across the road. He gave up soon after and flew off.

If you head off to you tube, there are plenty vids on there.
