    Hey,
I m a guitarist living in Galway.Im trying to get a band together.Im just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere in Galway I can advertise this.Or even websites dedicated for this purpose.
If anyone here is interested,Im in my midtwenties and would like to form a hardrock/heavy metal band but thats only to give an idea as I listen to anything.

modern music's always good. yer manno is dead on, just let him know you're putting it up just inside the door and he should be cool about it.

I second Modern Music, there's a notice board just inside the door. Also check out Powells. There's a notice board in the back. There's also notice boards in Sally Longs and The Forge which might be some help.

Best of luck with it. I've found that it's very difficult to get a metal band off the ground in Galway. The best musicians are usually in a few different bands and as a result it's hard to organise everyone to be in the same room at the same time.

And then when you get people together, you get complaints from people next door, outside of your "sound-proofed" room, right malice? ;)

Hey, I never said my living room was sound-proofed. I just underestimated how loud drums are. :D

I was actually referring to a certain establishment in Galway City that provides "sound-proofed" rehearsal space, not your gaff. ;)

OP, how are you fixed for a singer?

Cool-checked it out. When you say you tend to stay away from metal-is that just your style of singing or your musical tastes.I want to start something that has heavy sound when it comes to guitars.

And that's why we don't bump zombie threads.
