Ok a good Comedian friend of mine set up a Comedy show in the Cuckoo's Nest there a while back called Tallaght Laugh's. After all the preperation my friend went through to get he Comedians together and the Venue set up it was a blast,! The crowd was Rough at first but they really started enjoyed it . I think Tallaght needs a constant running show and not just a once off.. I am trying to convince him to have another show in the same place but he is thinking negative by saying what if i dont get the same crowd, what if no one turns up, what if.. etc etc.

What encouragment do i give to somebody who has the talent to try do it again successfully??????

    Let me hear your thoughts!

    Theres a shock!

    Tell your "friend"
"Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're probably right"

I think you probaby should not have been so aggressive with your early postings if it was your plan to get people to go

"Hey what a great idea, id love to help your friend out"
    When you started posting

"smug works in words not letters"

And your "friend" is probably right with regards to setting up at the mo

ps. that last quote is one of mine :)

I live very close to Tallaght and I don't see a regular comedy club working well out there. I've considered it myself and quickly dismissed the idea.

I can understand in principle being negative but I've talked to both people who went both were in the audience and who performed (I am awfully gregarious) and apparently it was a great show.

The comedian in question he's talking about is Mark Hanratty who's a nice guy so if he wants to do it fair play, if he doesn't I'm sure he'll spend that time in charity shops, doped to the gills on imitation Red Bull while coming up with his Fantasy Football League of Boy Bands. This paragraph is very specific if you don't know Mark. Shame. He wears baseball caps.

Saying that things either work or they don't.

well maybe Mark himself will be the judge of that .

I think its a good idea. Tallaght is a huge place. If you could get some regular punters you could do well. Put it on early enough before the Playhouse and Level 4 get sticky floors and you could have a younger crowd too.
