avg o2 broandband conflict?

    Hi gang,

    anyone had a similar problem and how did ye sort it? I installed the latest avg on a friends pc, its an oldish Packard bell running xp home, then installed the o2 broadband but it wouldn’t work, uninstalled avg and it worked. Is it a firewall problem or something?

    AVG isn't a firewall, it's an antivirus/spyware protector.

    What firewall are they using? Comodo is an example of a good free firewall.

    Can't imagine that AVG has anything to do with 02 broadband not working.

    just the windows firewall, nothing special installed as far as i know

    AVG can cause problems especially the free edition, try downloading/install Advast free, very similar to AVG - i havent experienced any problems with it yet!!

    The free version has no Firewall but the paid version does.
