Hi, Does anybody know the situation with bringing my car into the UK on a short term basis approx 3months? From a tax/registering car perspective does anybody know if i can drive in uk without registering the car if it's just for 3months? also is it better to use irish insurance with additional coverage for UK or get short term UK cover while I'm there???

    Thanks in advance:)

i am not that sure just what you are asking -i bring my car over to ireland from the uk for up to 3 months a year,my insurance covers me for the whole of the EU ,if you are saying your car is not taxed in ireland or the uk you will be committing a offence---check your own insurance ,most cover the eu now. if not top it up in ireland it will be cheeper as your insurance has your driving record

You are entitled to drive the car for 6 months in the UK without registering so you will be ok on that. For the insurance it depends on your policy, best to get in contact with them and tell them your situation and they will advise you on what they will cover.
