What to do with the old car?

The girlfriend has invested in a new secondhand car as a replacement to her 99 4 door 1.0l Opel Corsa, and about time too. The Corsa is in a bad way, still running, but there's no NCT on it, the clutch is in trouble, the timing belt is in trouble, and there's a clicking noise when the lights are turned on - the alternator maybe?

Anyhoo, the cost and bother of fixing these problems seems to be more hassle than its worth, I don't think that even with all the problems fixed it would sell for more than 1k. It has high mileage and some rust as well. So we're wondering what's the best thing to do with the car, to get some return on it? Sell it to a garage for parts, sell it at an auction, sell it as is? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! ;)

I think the only people who will take it off your hands are the local fire brigade for some practice.

You might get a hundred on adverts.ie, probably less. But at least someone will take it away.
