Reputable non-dealer Audi mechanic

    Hi,

I have a '01 Audi A3 in need of some work before my NCT test.

It's driving fine apart from the instrument cluster which will probably need to be replaced - the various gauges are working erratically and the speedometer has stopped working!

After that it probably justs needs a standard service to tick all the boxes required to pass the NCT.

Has anyone had any good experiences with non-dealer mechanics in the south city centre area that they could recommend to look at my Audi?

From searching the archives I have seen mention of the following but this info may be out of date:
    Jetstar - Dun Loaghaire
    SDP motors - Arbour Hill
    Brendan Pidgeon - Rathmines

    Many Thanks!

+1 for Jetstar - myself and the family have been using them for years.

You don't have a precise location for him?

I saw online that his address is:

    Rere 18 Ranelagh Road
    Dublin 6

But the location on google maps suggests it is elsewhere.

This is the site I saw the contact details on.

I have heard of a uk company doing audi dashpod repairs which works out way cheaper than audi price for a new one. Cant remember at the minute who they are though. It quite an expensive job if you go for a replacement

This could be something as simple as a poorly engaged block connector or a bad earth.
Most likely the biggest challenge would be actually removing the instrument cluster to gain access to the gubbins givin the trouble.
