Those of you who know Vera Duffy might be tickled by this.

In order to show the Emporium the error of their ways re: their dress code
which is being complained about elsewhere on Boards.

La belle Vera will be donning her shiniest track suit, hoodie & baseball cap
    for Sundays 50euro freeze-out.
This is one north-side skanger the doormen might struggle to turn away.

Well if they have let in selected under 21's when they feel like it, this might fall under that rule too, and while possibly showing up the stupidity of the rule it won't change things.

It seems to me that the SE regulars are like the nice girlfriend of an asshole boyfriend. Everyone else can see that he treats her badly and shows her no repect, but she can't see it herself and tries to defned him and give him every opportunity to change because he really loves her. Open your eyes.

how will this film end Dom?

Give us more of the storyline, I am on tenterhooks here...

Obviously she meets a less rich and powerful stranger with nice eyes and after a tempestuous hour and 30 minutes the boyfriend crosses some "line" that wakes her up to reality. She and the stranger disappear off into the sunset and live happily ever after (for at least as long as it takes to roll the credits anyway).

I like the analogy Dom, but perhaps what the asshole boyfriend wants is more action downstairs

This could make a good sitcom
Stunty could be played by Alan Rickman
    Vera by Helen Mirren
    Taylor durten by Jack Black
Jayminator by Meryl Streep (she is so versatile)
    Metal man by Colin Meany
    Spenser James by Rowan Atkinson
Dom could be played by Brian Denehy
With a guest appearances by Hector jelly played by Tim Roth and Valor played by Woody Allen

If you want to believe that then good luck to you.

I like the staff in the SE, I like playing in there when there is a crowd, and I don't blame the poker staff for the current plight, but unswerving loyalty has to be earned, and the club does very little for customers to earn that, as several threads over the years, most of which ahsve been started or caontributed to by its biggest regulars, have shown.

The movie has to be a tragic comedy of errors ending with
the asshole boyfriend character dying a painful
lonely death after being abandoned by everyone around him.

Whilst the script is still a work in progress
    some of the main characters have been developed;

Skanky Vera is a baglady from the wrong side of town
who posesses the ubiquitous heart of gold.
There's a bumbling police chief played by Roy Scheider
who laughs in the face of pot-odds despite being surrounded by sharks.
Two crazy characters of mysterious middle eastern descent,
one a “very clever man” who invented the bar of soap & breath mints
the other will need to be recast as the original ‘Ektor
is no longer available at this location (nor indeed any other!)
The leading man will be played either by
    TylerDurden as a Heathcliffesque character
with the dark brooding demeanor of a wild eyed man of few words
or alternatively by 5StarPool as one of those Bruce Willis characters,
somewhat folically challenged but always Tries Hard & then Tries Harder.
A sporting jock character played by a former Rugby star called Harold.
Somewhere in the mix will be a plaintive tear inducing
musical number entitled “Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Suck-Out”.

5Starpool - I know I am going completely off thread here
but is there anyway to print this thread out (in one printout) as I know Vera would love to read this even though she is not on BOARDS.

If a club has a set strict age limit which itself breaks from time to time they are breaking the law in much the same way as a pub serving 17 yr olds:eek:

Suprissed they havent been caught for this!

How are they breaking the law? All they are doing is ignoring their own rules when it suits. Which most places do anyway.

My guess is the lighthaired tranvestite that lost that staring competition with EL Stuntman. I don't know what the forfeit was as you both left the room soon after.
