great value if you are in the uk!its digital tuner for freeview would be useless in most of Ireland

even if you are in island of Ireland mostly it does not have a uk freeview signal, even if it did and you are close to the <border>and might get a freeview signal its specifications only mention a usb input which means you would need a fortune worth of accesories to receive even one digital channel at a time after a lot of grief.

it also is only a 7inch screen.

I would give it a miss unless i worked long hours in say security, for its price its not bad if it fits somewhere into your lifestyle(job, weekend caravan etc)
think you could do better though,it has a bit of an identity crisis it seems to me:)
also there is no manufactors name.
the sellor does have a very high reputation though.

it also is only a 7inch screen and does not have rw after cd(you could not burn<copy>a cd or dvd.

i asked the seller if it would pick up digital channels in ireland,he said any european country with a digital signal, its not just limited to freeview, you mention you think i could do better, any suggestions for something similar, ideally picking up rte1+2etc(working late shifts and missing a lot of champions league football)also must be portable

If your analogue signal is OK it will work here another 5 to 6 years.

I doubt it works with MPEG4 DVB-t though. Maplin had some DTT tuner / DivX -MPEG4 players and they could only do MPEG2 reception

As someone who has one of these types of portable players (Made in China) I'd be 95% certain they will not do MPEG4 DVB-T.
