The Malahide Millenium Tournament is back! It will be held in the airport Hilton over the May bank holiday weekend. There are two sections, one for players rated over 1500, and one for players rated under 1600 (or unrated).

    Details can be found here.

the airport Hilton is neither in the airport nor in Malahide, is that right? I'll probably play if I can find a straightforward way to get there from the southside.

Lol. You are amusingly correct. It's at the junction of the malahide road with the N32 (M50 extension). The map is here.

    Where are you coming from?

If it was closer and cheaper, I could stand a chance of going.
Unfortunately that's not going to happen :P

I've only just gotten back into chess recently though and am dying to play some live competetion.

Also, might need a separate thread for this but do you have any idea when the ICU season begins or ends?

If I were to pay the membership fee for the ICU, would it last until the end of the 09 season or a full year from when it was paid?

I'm pretty sure it's from September to September. membership@icu.ie is the place to ask.

very good and well run tournament, though the organisers would probably have preferred a bigger turnout. I'll definitely be coming back.

Haven't played this one in a good few years. Always well run- Vinny B is the man. Good to hear it's still keeping up it's high standards.
