I left the bar game and went back to college two years back because the wages were remaining static or in some cases going down. Immigration did Irish barmen no favours whatsoever.
At the time I left I was on a union rate of €520 after tax for a 39hr week. You'd do well to get that now as there are very few union shops left in Dublin.
If you're working it part time and already have at least 3 yrs exp. then I'd say €12-14ph would be good. But the problem is a lot of people will work for less than that...
I wouldn't advise it as a career if thats what you are thinking, its hard work, on your feet all day and you end up dealing with an awful lot of gob****es. You don't see that many ppl over the age of 40 behind bars and there's a good reason for it.

You could be looking at between 9 Euro ph - 13 Euro ph depending on experience but as there are so few jobs out there....expect to be paid the lowest. Unfortunate but true:(

I second RATM. I also left bar work to go back to college. The best and worst jobs I ever had were in two different bars. Great fun when it works but horrible when it doesn't. Wages haven't moved since 2002.

i have 2 years experience in the whole pub sector, one of those being a supervisor, so the least i would be looking at is around 9euro then?
