It's my girlfriend's birthday next month and I'm thinking of gettin her a 'pashley' style town bike. Can anyone recommend anything or anywhere?

Been to a few lbs' (and looked on gumtree) but nothing has jumped out at me, though one of them did indeed stock pashley's, nice looking bikes but a little out of my range at 625e. I might have been mistaken too but the brooks saddle looked, and felt plastic????

Try one of the Dawes "heritage" bikes - nice traditional ladies bike and cheaper than Pashley.

There are a range of Pashley models, some significantly cheaper (but with lower spec, e.g. 3 gears and no integrated lights). I bought from here a month ago, (free) delivery expected tomorrow.

It can be a bit difficult determining how long it will take to get the bike. BikeDock get regular deliveries; they told me two weeks but the child seat and leather grips took another couple.

There are lots of cheaper alternatives with aluminium frames which are possibly functionally better (e.g. lighter), but the Pashley look is hard to beat.

Excellent, thanks morgan, one of the shops suggested that but didn't have any in stock and I'd forgotten about it, looks pretty much bang on.

Thanks Lumen, it was the princess that I saw, i'll check the conversion rate.

Those Dawes Heritage bikes certainly look very nice in the flesh. Nice little details like sew-on grips.

Yep he said he was getting more in next week, might go in and haggle with him. Anyone much recent experience with the haggle in bike shops, what should I expect? Few quid off and/or few items thrown in?
