Medical Card Holders: prsi & income levy

I haven't worked it out but surely if you have a medical card then your income is below the Income Levy threshold anyway?

I got one recently but to be honest, I've been too embarrassed to tell my three employers (my person record, I three part time jobs). I assume I can get any of the income levy back at the end of the tax year when I send revenue my usual tax return, but a quick read through the numerous PRSI pages suggests that that cannot be reclaimed at the end of the year.

no it cant be, i checked it out for one of my employees.

She sometimes earned above the weekly threshold and when I investigated for her I was told(the person sounded unsure all the same)thats its a levy not a tax.

It like the plastic bag levy, a company cannot claim the levy against their expenses for the year.

Not necessarily... they also take into account expenses such as mortgage/rent, cost of travel to work and childcare/maintenance expenses.

It's worth completing the form for one anyway even if you think you might be over the threshold. Your expenses just might sway it for you.
