Anyone have a near death experience? On a 2nd note are you afraid of dying.

I've had 1 so far. Almost drowned in lahinch with the feckin current and all the holes dug into the sand by kids(which you can't see when the tide is fully in)!!!

I don't think im afraid of dying. As long its not in horrible circumstances like starving or drowning. Quick and painless thats the way i want it!!

    :p

Got pulled along by my aunt's car in Belfast when she took off. A string of my jacket was stuck in the door and I noticed before she started moving, I ran alongside the car for a few meteres tapping the window and then she kicked it into speed and I was dragged to the ground. Luckily for me I had decided to unbutton my coat while in the car that cold morning and if not for this I would be dead. I slid out and had a very soggy bottom covered in tiny stones until me and my cousin made our way back up to his house, could have been worse I suppose.

Not really afraid of death but am afraid of having a horrible/long/painful death.

Nearly died of boredom on a few occasions, but still here.

Not afraid of dying since my mother died cos I feel she'll be waiting for me :)

I was at a well-known adventure centre near Connemara about 4 years ago. We arrived, unpacked, split into groups and set off. My group's first excursion was to the zip-line. Now, I'm terrified of heights, but I decided to get my go out of the way early. So, I climbed up the ladder onto the platform where the wire started (about 40 feet up).
The fella working there spotted my nervousness instantly (I was shaking after climbing the ladder) and I let him know how I felt about heights. He laughed as he fixed the main buckle on my safety harness and said "We'll count to five, then you just jump off there."
That was fine by me. We started counting.
    "One..."
    "Two..."
    "Three..."
    "Hang on! Wait! Don't move!"
Well, I was startled. Why would he stop me?
I stepped back from the edge of the platform while he unclipped the main buckle, turned it the right way around, set it to its correct position and locked it properly.
"Right, we'll count to three," he said.
    "One."
    "Two"
    *push*

That muppet could have killed me that day.

No you are not death, death is much shorter.

Just why are your toes itching so much. What have you been dipping them in?
