Are the results posted online when they're released? I looked it up there and they only give noticeboards that the results will be posted on...

In my experience the webmaster couldn't be arsed waiting and they are online earlier.

For courses with multiple exams, what method do they use to calculate the overall result?

    ECTS credit weighted geometrical average?

Does anyone know when exam results are due out? I think there was a pdf file mentioning it somewhere but I did a search for it and couldn't find it - no luck finding it on the examinations office either...

It varies, though generally that would be it. Occasionally your mark for the year does not reflect the weights put towards you final marks. For example in TP your third year mark is 50% maths 50% physics, but they actually count for 10% and 25% of your degree respectively. This leads to the potentially amusing scenario of being able to get a first in both JS and SS yet gaining a 2:1 overall.
