I have a 6.15 am flight from Dublin on Thursday with Ryanair. Ive checked in on line but i hear there are often long delays for security. What time should i arrive in the airport, is 5am early enough? Thanks

5 am should be fine, I'd say 5:30 would be plenty of time, but even with an online check in I'd give it an hour, just in case.

Do make sure that the flight time is correct - I did one of those online check in things once only to discover that the flight time had changed and had been brought forward by 15 mins. I ran, very fast!

    Thanks for that.

Somone told me that theres alot of early flights so security takes a long time to get through

Indeed security at that time will be very busy , but to wait more than 20 mins is very unusual ( I can't remember waiting that long for a long time now )

Monday mornings are the worst , you sometimes almost have to barge your way into the terminal it's so crowded.

If your flight is on the D gates give yourself plenty of time to walk there its a bt of a hike

That hour of the morning is crazy in Dublin airport. I was surprised the last time I flew out. Normally it's much quiter mid morning and mid afternoon. Arriving an hour beforehand should be fine if you have booked in online.

Last week I had a 7:15 to Dus and was 35 mins getting through security - this morning it was 5 minutes .. - I think last week was extra busy due to the Easter holidays

6am on a Monday the airport is mad, but as was said earlier, even then it usually takes no more than 20 minutes to get through security.

I tend to go for the screening area at the right hand end of the airport as I find that is quicker even though it often looks worse, but don't tell anyone otherwise they will all be doing it:D

You know what , strangely I always go for the security check on the left , wierd !

Be interesting to have two people travelling one day and go in each !

I always go for the one on the right - always looks longer but they have more xray machines and does flow that bit faster than the left

5 should be grand - I've not taken more than 20 mins to get through security for any of my all too frequent 6.30 mid term and school holidays are the only times i've not had time to grab breakfast before I board. Sometimes it looks a lot busier than it really is.

I tried that once with a friend on a Saturday morning, right won by about five minutes.

Oh no, it's out now. Left is much quicker, whatever you do don't use the RH one :-))
