Not sure where to look for this, so I will try here.

So my question is, If i set up a privare limited company do i require public liability insurence by law, or any insurance by law.

Also if not and someone hurts themselves would i hold any legal responsibility or any other share holders,

All input would be very much appreciated.

u havent given us much to work with........

what kind of company is it ?

    does it have premises?

will it be conducting work in some public place ?

will members of the public be allowed on site ?

is there valuable stock or cash handling ?

does it involve handling or manufacture of food ?

if you answered yes to these questions you will probably need at the least some basic cover for liability

if its just yourself annd another director working from home you may not need insurance but its impossible to say for sure without more info on the business type

it would be run from the house and the company would just be the sports grounds that people could use when they wanted.

This is not a big operation but i'm trying to set something so myself and friend can use it but i don't want legal responsibility, so i'm unsure of what to do

You are not legally bound to take out Employers Liability or Public Liability in Ireland, although certain representative bodies do require you to adhere to certain requirements.

But as most people will tell you it is prudent to have protection.
