Ardee Garda Station

    Can anyone tell me if Ardee Garda Station, Ardee, Co Louth is continually manned? I have had reason to call there on a few occasions lately and no one is there irrespective of what time of the day I call. There are lots of cars parked outside and lights on inside but the door is never open and noone answers the bell. Was'nt it to become a big regional centre for parts of the North East?

    Ring them and say,

    "Ardee Gardee?"

    They never get tired of that one!

    Thought it was a district HQ, so should be 24 hour. www.garda.ie contact us section.

    The last I heard Ardee was to be a District HQ but I think there was problems moving personnel to the station.

    The numbers in the station is to significantly increased though from previous levels.

    If you cant get anyone in the station, try ringing Dundalk and ask them what the story is. Ardee used to be a sub-district of Dundalk.

    At the start of '09 divisional changes came into effect making Ardee the HQ for mid-Louth while also making it a 24 hour station.

    In saying that tho', I don't know why you haven't been able to make contact with anyone in the station.

    The car is 24 hours but the station isn't manned for that time. Ring Dundalk as I believe they are their district HQ

    The gards in ardee have certainly kicked up a gear cos apparently theres near 20 somthin gards in Ardee now thats more than the average size town. I drove down the main street the other day and i seen 3 garda cars and one gard walking.

    yes it is manned 24hrs as of january
