    Hi,

    In light on the current economic situation I feel inspired to set a group like this up for the benefit of business owners or self-employed people who wish to;

    Receive emotional support and encouragement to achieve your personal and business goals.

    Acquire creative ideas for your projects and goals.

    Obtain positive feedback from a supportive team.

    Learn from the experiences of others.

    Have a leverage of other peoples’ resources to get the things you need done.

    Develop great relationships with likeminded people.

    Experience personal growth in developing your self-mastery and leadership skills.

    Increase your chances of success in achieving your goals.

    All successful people have one thing in common. They never go at it alone. They will always have a team beside them to help them out. That 'team' is called the Mastermind Group.

    I am looking to set up this group in the Cork area.....

    If this sounds like something you would be interested in joining, please drop me a line….

    Alot of the stuff you mention can be acquired here.

    Isn't there some sort of monthly meeting held in Cork on a monthly basis by the Chamber of Commerce in support of the SME, whereby people gather to discuss business ideas and swop business cards!?

    set one up recently, its meant to be a lot closer knit than a general meet and be careful who you invite. 5-6 max confidence in the group is a must. we meet up once a month for breakfast sometimes we just shoot the breeze but one comment from someone saying oh well just do this can make it all worth while. We are still finding our way and are unstructured at present agenda wise but we may change this in future.

    hi fmcc,

    i am also interested in setting up/joining a mastermind group, and as someone who has just set up one, how would you recommend going about it. how do you decide who to allow in, do you have any rules etc you follow. i know mastermind groups are mentioned/advised in many self help/motivation books, and feel it would be a great way for me to become more accountable, and increase my motivation to take action towards my goals...this post is one of my first step. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks.

    jag only rules are confidentiality and commitment. I approached one person and they suggested three more that I was also happy with. Its still a work in motion but you will be surprised how many people will be enthusiastic about it. We moved the time around to suit people starting work at 9 so a breakfast one suited us but evening or lunch may suit others. I think the attitude of the peolpe you ask is all important. If you had a child would you like them to work for that person and for your child to see them as a role model if so ask them are they interested and explore the rest together.
