Who's responsible website or hotel

I recently booked two nights on laterooms.com, On laterooms.com it states the hotel was 3 km outside the city centre but when I got there - it was about 11/12 Kms. It cost us 20 EUR each way in a taxi. I've complained to the website but they say it's up to the hotel to ensure the information is correct. I think that's rubbish. It was Easter weekend and we really didn't have a choice but to stay. We had to go to for an appointment.

Who here is responsible? I don't feel like chasing the hotel because I booked through LateRooms.

Follow the money. So that'd be the hotel, you were sold a service that wasn't "as described", which lead to you suffering a personal loss.
I'd get onto the hotel asap and explain the situation to them. The way the business is going i'd reckon they'd try to sort it out with you someways
