I would imagine that payroll software guys are doubly pissed off with the changes complicating their lives.

The payroll changes come into effect for all payroll payments made on or after the May 1st, 2009.

So if you are paid fortnightly and you get paid on a Friday, You will be paid on Friday 1st May for the previous two weeks with all of the new, higher, levies being applied.

This is also for the Pension related deduction which has changed since it was first introduced as it was initially applicable only on days worked after the 1st March, regardless on the pay date.
