Running on Empty: A show I've made about running

    Hello all.
I've mainly just posted in the Connemarathon thread so far, but I thought I would share this as the denizens of this forum might be interested (I've checked with the mods first).

I've made a half-hour 'radio' show about running in general, and my experiences training for and running my first half-marathon in Connemara in particular. While I hesitate to class it as comedy, it could be described as 'light-hearted'. i.e. it has a lot of silly jokes in it.

Anyway, I hope some people on here might enjoy it. All feedback/ comments etc. would be gratefully received. A youtube version is also on the way (for which I should thank Krusty_Clown for his assistance), which I will post when it is done.

A mid-twenties crisis leads to an attempt to run a half-marathon, not even a proper marathon. This show charts the hopes, dreams and inevitable disappointments of that attempt; a 'plodumentary', if you will. An exploration of inadequacy, a study in mediocrity. Not even a proper marathon.

I just thought I would bump this to include the first part of three YouTube videos, which I finally finished last night. The other two to come over the next few weeks. Apologies to bother again. Thanks to anyone who has listened so far.

EDIT: youtube embedding didn't work for some reason

    denizens

What an utterly fantastic word that is. I'm meeting some friends for a few pints tonight, and they'll be suitably impressed I'm sure when I drop this word into the conversation. :)

Anyway I've downloaded the mp3, should be able to give it a listen at work tomorrow.

Hey, enjoyed the first episode.. Particularly the comments about the Teleporter. :) Looking forward to the next couple.. An episodic video of your progress (vblog) would've been good too.

    Aha, thanks.

Here is part two for those interested, it's a lot better than the first one I think.

And here's the first one, newly embedded:

Sorry for the bump. This is just the last one to say that the third and final video is done. It includes a montage of the race itself featuring the work of Krusty_Clown of this parish, for which I'm very grateful.

The entire show can also be downloaded in higher quality here, should anyone be interested: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GCYGZKX6

Thanks to all for watching, and apologies again for the bumping.
