Need new tyres

    Hi Lads,

The vw passat estate currently sits on:

    Michelin Radial 205/60 R15 91V's

Now there is about 2-3000 miles left on them but since a blowout on the front passenger side - I've decided to get at least two new front tyres to allow me to stick spare back in the boot.

Now the garage owner suggested Pirelli's or Bridgestone's. Not Michelin's as in his words they are:

    Expensive
    Soft Wearing

Would guys go along with this?
He suggested about €90-95 a corner for new tyres which seems pretty fair including taking off old ones and putting new ones on.

    Views appreciated!

    Thought Michellin were long lasting.

Anyway, Continental Sport Contact are pretty good for lasting

    Cheers EPM,

You never know if the garage get a better mark-up on the other brands which is why I am ever so slightly suspicious.

    FTR - I was told that Michelin's could be €120 a corner.

I have vredesteins sporttrac 3. Recommended, especially for grip in wet. Ideal for irish summers:)

Shop around for some prices. You may get the Michelins cheaper elsewhere.
