They are not very relaible. They used to continually prop up the bottom of the JD power survey when they were first launched.

Plus, expect to spend a fair bit on juice. That engine is thirsty enough when coupled with an auto box.

You also may be better off offering cash - the laguna wont be worth anything bar a token gesture off the price. You'd be better off looking for a Mitsubishi Spacewagon IMHO

    €3k for a '98? Nah. Try €1,800 or less.

How much are you hoping to get for your '94 Laguna? More than about €600 would be optimistic. Lagunas were never known for their longevity.

Paid just 900 for the laguna nearly a year ago so not hoping to get much but at least something off it. Was hoping because it was a Ford it would be more reliable. We were also looking at Zafiras but never looked at the Spacewagans. they seem to be a bit cheaper though.

Look at the Seat Alambra (sp) is the same car as the Galaxy, also the VW Sahran. Might get a newer one for the same money.

That's a better deal, although I'd be thinking a few hundred lower.

Just saw this one too but price seems a little low?

The first one looks tidier than the second one.

If you could get 5-600 off it should be sound

Stay away from those petrol Galaxies. Awful revvy, slow and petrol consuming engine. Get a diesel. It'll more than likely cost more, but it should sell easier and you should see alot more mpg over the petrol. Post 00-01 has a VAG TDI engine as far as I know.

    What's your budget?
Would you not keep the Laguna and flog it off to some one for a few hundred euro? I assume you'd get more off on a straight deal that you would if you traded in the Laguna.

Offer cash as they will be giving you zero for the trade in when you see what the straight price is. Then just drop the old car at the auction if ya dont want the hassle of trying to sell it. If ya only get a couple of hundred for it, you are still going to be better off. I also would go with the spacewagon.

Thanks guys. The budget is about 2 grand but could stretch to 2500 at a push (not including the Renault). Not really expecting to get much for the Renault but it is working and in good condition (Key is a bit dodgy though sometimes won't start the car and you have to leave it for a while before starting it). Going to go up to see 1st spacewagon in a while so will see what they have to say.

Thanks for all advice it's appreciated.

A 2.3 4 pot petrol engine allied to an auto box and hauling a big MPV is a wholly unattractive proposition.
