    MORLA

"A surprising music whose kaleidoscopic colours, textures and original lines constantly confounded expectation." The Irish Times

Morla is the most recent group to emerge from Bottlenote - a collective of creative Dublin based musicians. Simon Jermyn's sculptural guitar work blends beautifully with Seán Óg's personal approach to jazz's most iconic of instruments while Shane O'Donovan's creative percussion and innovative electronica have been a mainstay of Dublin's underground scene for a number of years. Focusing on a pared back tonal palette, reminiscent of ancient folksong traditions and coupled with quarter tone melodies, Morla has a personal approach and sound which is all its own. Expect daring compositions, live processing and an insistence on meaningful improvisation.

Simon Jermyn - guitar, baritone guitar, electronics, preparations.
Seán Óg - alto saxophone, ring modulator, televisions.
Shane O'Donovan - programming, drums, electronics.
