Iliotibial band syndrome

Hi I'm running the Edinburgh marathon on the 31st May and i think i've got Iliotibial band syndrome. I haven't been able to train properly for about a month now and i went fro a run on saturday and could only do about 4 laps of the running track. Basically it is a very sharp pain to the outside of my left knee that stops me running.

I have everything for the marathon booked and i will not be backing out of it. So i was wondering if anyone has any experience with this injury and if so is there anything i can do to ensure i can run on the day.

    Cheers
