Where do you buy your computer parts?

Just wondering where people buy computer stuff online. Are you happy with the service you get? I would regularly buy a range of stuff - memory, hard disks, ext. hard disks, printers, routers, anything really. Would like to get from the one source, as it's handier.

Dabs.ie , Komplett.ie , Overclockers.co.uk. All have good service, shop between all 3 and you should find one that has what your looking for that ships here. I've used them all and no real major complaints.

Komplett.ie is my preferred source - with computer parts you'll find that on any given day one of the guys - dabs, elara, pixmania, misco - will have an item for 1euro cheaper than the rest, and that's fine. But for consistant service I do tend to keep to the same supplier. And Komplett has a pick up point in Blanchardstown, if that helps, and their customer service is local too which I find avoids a lot of the problems you see people having with the likes of Pixmania.

Elara.ie is also good for the local service.

Usually just look between 4: Komplett, Dabs, Elara and Misco. Buy most stuff from the first two.

Thanks for the replies. How are they for returns? Do any of them charge for faulty returns (in warranty)? That would discount a company for me.

Well, both Elara and Komplett have their own forums here on boards (Commercial Interaction), which would be helpful if you had any issues.

I dunno what you mean by them charging you though? You'd have to pay to send the package back AFAIK, if that's what you mean. Sometimes, if somethign does go faulty, it can be a better idea to contact the manufacturer directly, as some will dispatch new item and collect faulty one (free), if it's deemed faulty.

A guide to consumer law from consumerconnect.ie says that the seller is liable for the return costs of faulty goods. I would have thought that anything else would not be fair. A company can sell me faulty goods and then charge me to return them?

If you have to return an item because it is faulty, the web trader is liable for any return shipping costs.

Seems I'm wrong in that scenario so. I've never had to return anything yet (apart from Epson printer, directly to Epson).
