Potential Fast Food Profits

I have an idea for a particular type of fast food which is not currently available in Ireland and I believe would be a success. I am currently working in a secure job which I don't want to give up but I am willing to put in plenty of hours in the evening times and weekends. I would propose having a manager of the fast food outlet to run the place during the day with potential earnings of 30k - 40k. Supposing I got the place off the ground would the extra 30k-40k eat too much into my profits to make it worth my while?

I suppose what I'm really asking is how much can the average successful fast food joint expect to make in profit over a year. I have no previous experience of the business.

    Thanks.

obviously places vary but in my own personal opinion unless your making a MINIMUM of 80k a year out of it then its not worth the hassle. Most of the good pizzas places etc are doing this and more a year.

Leaving a manager to run it will most likely see it fail, and yes it will eat too much into your profits.

Fast food industry demands a lot of your time, not to mention experience being a massive massive advantage. and as you say your idea is the first of its kind you are not even going to have the support/experienced backup of a franchise company etc to advise you on whats best practice and how to operate sucessfully.

    Its a very risky proposition
