Sorry if these questions have been answered already. I really don't understand all this dole stuff.
I've recently been put on a 3 day week (22.5 hours)
    What can i claim?
Do i get the forms first and send them off or do i need to go to the office.
What info do i need- forms, id, proof of adress.
What do i need from work?
Any idea how much i'm entitled to?

I'd appreciate any help, I'm really clueless about all this stuff

Go to your local dole office and tell them you're on a 3 day week, you should be allowed to sign on for the other 3 days of the week - Sunday's don't count.

The rules may be different now, but in my day they didn't means test you for that type of signing on (well not that I recalls!)

dunno about your savings in this case, but they are taken into account if you are means tested

You can cliam for 3 days.... roughly 27 euro a day if you've enough prsi contributions made

Do i get the forms first and send them off or do i need to go to the office.

Go to dole office with two forms of id and letter from your employer confirming you're on reduced hours.

What info do i need- forms, id, proof of adress.

    As above.

About 27 quid a day i think so 3*27. If you work on a sunday you will get 4*27 though.

    No problem

If you have "enough" weeks of PRSI contributions then, no, it doesn't matter, you're entitled to JB based on this. How much is enough depends on how long you've been in the workforce, and whether it's been continuous.

(I haven't investigated in depth, but suspect that there might be some nasty traps for older people who've worked here for years, went overseas for a year or two, came back but have only worked for a short time since coming back.)

If you don't have enough weeks of contributions, then yes it does matter, because you'll be means tested for JA.
