its simple really ring sky tell them your sick of having channels like zone reality(for example) and anyway youve got an offer in the door from NTL for a cheaper subscription with similar channels.the rep will to and fro about the various parts of your package you do and dont watch but ikeep up with NTL being cheaper no matter what you watch.eventually you will get offered 20% off your bill for six months starting from today with the next bill doctored to factor in if youve paid the higher amount for this month already.this has worked for my father in law and myself

setanta is similar.tell a little lie say your on short time and thinking of cancelling.you get the usual oh we have this that and the other.but again by sticking to your guns you will be offered half price for three months.

finally apologies if im posting this in the wrong section i just thought it might be useful to share

This could happen to some ppl. But I stress do it at your own risk as sometimes they will go through with the cancel procedure.

Hold your nerve til the very last minute, a lot of times the CS rep will put you through to the Cancellations department who are more likely to entice you, if it doesn't work and you do cancel, you can always ring back and cancel the cancellation!!

And if they don't keep to their word on the offer they use the entice you to stay, you can always cancel the cancellation of the cancellation :P

a mate of mine worked for ntl before in the cancellation dept and they are generally told to keep a customer at all costs.i would think it applies all across companies like that
