Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me out!

I'm looking for a free alternative to Microsoft Publisher. Cannot afford to buy the programme! :( Could anyone point me in the direction of what to get and where to get it!

    Mercy Buckets in advance!

There is a 60-day Microsoft Publisher free trial, in case you only need it short term....

    Trial Link

Otherwise... maybe try something like the free / open source Scribus.

Scribus +1. A little more complicated than Publisher but does offer more features.

Is Draw not somewhat similar to Publisher? I've never used either but I thought that it was the OO version of Pub. I'm sure that it isn't as powerful or as polished as MS' product but seeing as the OP didn't state what the use was for I thought I'd mention it.

Think Draw is an SVG application. Looks decent enough, especially for posters and the like.

Will Scribus open and edit Publisher files?

    Thanks,

Last time I checked, no. This could well have changed though.

Publisher file scan only be opened by Publisher, think of it as a lock in mechanism.

OpenOffice Draw is more like Visio than Publisher, but may do what depending on what you want to do.

And Visio is another one of those lock in apps that only it can edit its own files.
