Your longest runing streak (nothing to do with running naked)

I have been reading a couple of marathon related books lately and they have all mentioned the great British marathoner Ron Hill and his incredible running streak, where he has run every day since December 1964.

He has even ran on days were he has had knee surgery etc. Granted these were aided by crutches so purists could say his streak was broken but still it's incredible that this man has managed to get his arse out the door every day for the last 45 years. Similarly he may have the worst case of OCD known to man but he insists that he is not obsessed.

Now my question is what is the longest running streak (in terms of continuous days) fellow boardsies have ever put together ?

Secondly, what is the longest streak boardsies have put together in terms of training weeks (i.e 30 miles a week for 10 weeks etc).

My (unintentional) record is about 40 days continuous running. I was coming back from an injury and it was very easy going.

In terms of weeks I suppose 50+ miles for 20 weeks would be my record.

    Anyone else ?

4 days, but I may be overestimating and it could only be as many as 3.

Last week did 6 days consecutively, and that's probably my record! Have certainly never gone through a week without taking at least one rest day.

50 miles per week for four weeks would be my longest consecutive streak of high mileage. Although have followed the P&D plan to the letter, which would be 16 weeks of 35+ miles per week.

I clocked 12 continous days this time last year according to my log and I've a total of 7 good continous weeks and thats from the Paris cycle of training.

Nice topic. I not sure exactly how long mine was but it would have been when i was about 17-18 had a bit of a mad summer that i think i ran almost ever day for 8 week, wouldnt have been mad mile but , raced a lot too at the time. Now i wont go a week without a day off.

As few week, i think my highest miles ever have been my last 6 week, mid to high 40's for each of the last 6 , bar last week wich was a 25.

I did 20 consecutive days back in Feb when I was starting to build the mileage up.

Don't think I've had a week off since September - but the mileage has varied in that time. Lowest would be mid 30 miles, which was for most of December and January, the rest of the time would have been 50+ I'd say.

10 days but then I was cramming before life took over!
    Usually 5 days is standard
For my 1st marathon (Connemara`06) I did 10 weeks of 30-35 miles nearly killed me!
For Dublin`08 I did 16 weeks at 40-65 and that was a dream...

Im hoping for 20 weeks of 50-80 this lead up to Dublin!?!?
    I`m a total addict :o

I'm in the same league as Robinp :o.
I love my rest days as much as my training days.

Sorry boss. I promise to reverse my current trend of not having run in over a week and head out again later today.

I'm still a noob to this whole running thing (9 months so far), haven't gone more than 3 days in a row so far.

Will you increase your training when Woddle starts to beat you?

Would have done 4 weeks in a row as a juv, then a couple of weeks racing. This year I did do 151 miles in 22 consequtive days - but that was followed by 2 weeks business travel where I knew I would struggle to get out (so i was trying to bank the miles) - following 14 days had only 6 runs totalling 32 miles.

    Yes.

I might even go really crazy then and do something like 5 days running in a row without a rest day. I'd not recommend other people to undertake strenuous activity such as that without first consulting their physician though.

Longest consecutive stretch was 6 days at the end of last month, but typically 2-4 days in a row is more usual. Apart from that 6 I've consistently run 5 days a week every week since Christmas except the week with the snow (4) and the last 2 weeks (4 and 3) because I was going easy before Sunday's race.
