    Hi,
I'm new to this forum, I originally wanted to reply to the thread about wether I like mustard or not, but I couldn't find the topic again... Anyhow, I stumbled on the cricket post instead and started wondering how common it is to play cricket in Ireland? Is it a big sport there?

I've heard about Gaelic football, hurling and rugby being big... But never cricket. Tell me more :)

    Swedish eejit asking :P

It's much smaller than those 3 sports, and would in actuality be smaller than hockey too. It's concentrated in areas around Dublin, Belfast and Derry, with smaller outposts flying the flag around the country too.

    Oh, that's cool though :)
    It's good to know.

I heard about Gaelic football for the first time only half a year ago, and it looks very funny :) I don't think you can guess my surprise when I saw some guy lifting up the football and running away with it, he he he...

That's understandable - cross-country skiing looks ridiculous the first time you see it too...

Yeah, I can well imagine that :)
Next time I visit Ireland I'm definitely going to go to a Gaelic football game. I believe I need to see it for real. Somehow it's just too good to be true
