UPC Thomson DVR

Why is the Thomson DVR so painfully slow when flicking through the menus let alone the guide? Not even the first gen Sky+ box's were this slow... Are the non pvr boxes any faster? I might have to give UPC a call and get rid of the DVR...

is the new UPC DVR really that bad? how does it compare to the normal digital interface? Is Thomson the only brand UPC are using for their DVRs?
