    In a word... no.
Vintage Collection got advertised by Sky prior to it's debut last year, Superstars didn't get that treatment.

That's not to say Sky probably won't add it down the line, but as it stands, it's not being aired.

I may be wrong here guys, but I thought I read somewhere that Eurosport UK had signed a deal with WWE to have a kind of weekly recap show of all three brands, and the Superstars show also?

I'm pretty sure that it was Eurosport, not the UK one, because the rights are already held by Sky there

WWE could decide to sell it too a different broadcaster and would be well with in there rights to do so. What exactly dose this show entail? Is it just a recap or is there exclusive matches ect.?

Both! Its matches from the three brands, this week it was Horny/Finley v Nat/Kidd, Edge v Kofi and Rey/Punk v Show/Kane, its only a matter of time that the big names stop appearing on it and it will be a mini Velocity with the likes of Noble and co I suspect.

Maybe. In fairness though Noble is a good wrestler along with the likes of Helms and Kidd so it wouldn't be bad for them to get more airtime. I'm all for it we see the main eventers too much as it is.

Heh I have no problem with Jamie on tv, he is awesome. Lots of people liked Velocity because you got to see the guys who got no screen time on Raw or SD tear it up regularly and put on great matches. If it ends up like that their wont be much complaints from me.

I think Sky and WWE basically have told each other to lock out competition in this area. Obviously not in those terms as that would be illegal. :P

No it wouldn't. If WWE signed an exclusive contract with Sky then they couldn't go to any other channels looking for a deal as long as the Sky contract is running. Nothing wrong with that at all

I've no idea how the contract is worded but oneofakind seems fairly certain about it :pac:

After the channel 4 experience i don't see wwe working with someone else. I remember reading an interview with shane mcmahon in the sun pretty much saying that. But that interview was a while ago now.

Yeah but I'm sure they have a certain "understanding" that Sky can't show any other companies' wrestling programmes. Which I'm fairly sure is either illegal or would at least be anti-competitive. I'm sure it's not actually set in the contract though.:D

It's Vintage Collection and This Week In WWE (recap show) that Eurosport show (outside of the UK as Fozzy already pointed out.)

Ah yes, the days of ad breaks that seemed to happen every five minutes. I think it was the 2001 Royal Rumble, cut to commercial, Big Show returned...during the ads of course :pac:

    Them were the days!

    *whiffs the nostalgia*

Was just thinking bout this the other day and came across this little interesting piece:

    http://www.sportbusiness.com/news/100998/channel-4-not-to-renew-wwf-deal
Channel 4 not to renew WWF Deal

The decision comes after Channel 4 had been forced to move the programme from its 4pm timeslot on Sundays to a late-night schedule in May of this year. Problems over the violent content and the depiction of women in the globally popular WWF continued to arise even in the later slot and the broadcaster has decided that it can no longer justify screening the programme. Channel 4 told sportbusiness.com: “We will not be renewing our contract with the WWF as it has become increasingly difficult to edit the extreme nature of the content.” Conversely, the Independent Television Commission (ITC) has stated that it has received very few complaints about the WWF, commenting that research had showed that the regular audience understood that the fight scenes were choreographed.

I think so many people remember it cos if they have a look you'll find some ppv that was taped and watched way too many times. Because it was all that was got at the time for the kids whos parents were too stingy to get sky :p

They went to ads for every promo too.

Thankfully it didn't last too long on Channel 4.

Why would it be illegal? I'm pretty sure that it's written into their contracts in the US that the channels can't show other wrestling shows. Spike TV had to ask WWE if they could air UFC shows because they could have vetoed it at the time
