    hi guys!

been thinking, i got serious plans for my car etc but was just thinking if i was to increase the power of my car (im thinking over 300hp) what happens when it comes to nct time regards emissions?

the car is at the moment 150hp and it would obviously be using a lot more petrol so would this effect the emissions?

    cheers
    gary

you'll probably have the cat taken out so come nct time you'll need to put that back in.

The map you put on it may make the emissions high too so you may have to get it mapped to tune it down a bit before the nct and then get it mapped again after it to get the power back.

Whats the car and whats the plans? some cars can handle big increases in power and still pass the emissions tests

On the button, what is it, and whats your plans? 150-300 is a huge jump, needing alot of work and change alot of bit's, whapping a bigger turbo, better exhaust and a remap won't come close, please explain.

well if you saw my car in the members cars section, its a nissan primera. ive always loved the P10's (90-96) since i was 7. i know that my car would be stupid to put htat power in it seeing that its fwd, but heres where japland comes in!

the plan is to get a P10 T4, a awd saloon primera like the one below. the standard engine in those is an SR20DE, same as the one i got now. the plan is to get:

    2.4 stroker kit for sr20det
    sr16ve head and oil pump,
    sr20ve cams,
t28 turbo with pulsar gtir mani etc
and everything else that goes with it
i think that with this as a basic guideline then obviously a remap, 370cc injectors etc it could easily make 400hp+

its unlikely you will do anything with the above list to fail emissions.
Cars fail on emissions due to incorrect combustion usually too lean or too rich.

Once the car has a CAT and isnt dumping buckets of fuel to prevent detonation you should be fine. If its too lean odds are itll melt long before it gets there anyway so not an emissions problem.

Just make sure you get the static compression ratio correct and remember you can always run Low boost for a NCT.

Also note there are a number of differences between the FR and FF Sr20 dont assume it will fit by default. The FF Sr20 did not have oil squrters for piston cooling and is more closely relate to the pulsar SR20. So double check before you buy a very expensive stroker kit that may not fit.
There are also differences around the oil pumps if i remember correctly.

unless you resprayed the VC red its a fake. the P11 gt never came with a red top, they were black top.

the green one inthe pics is mine. i brought it down from up north. cost me about 1300 inc vrt as you see it plus it flew through the nct:)

why would i spray the vc red to make a fake? it may seem weird but it could have 30 superchargers blowing through 30 turbochargers and have a top speed of 400mph, their still a piece of **** to me.

The real reason would be it came in the yard as a primera gt, sr20de inside it, and was told by someone "in the know" its red top, either way makes no odds to me, its up for 500, if not she'll be squashed next time the squshers in. Needs a bonnet and bumper, drives 100%. Another members got the number and is sussing it out, see how he gets on, after that its open season.

thats fair enough, but all im saying is that if it is a 97 gt primera, it aint got a red top, its a black top. besides its only a bit of paint really.

if its gotta go to the crusher then so be it, doesnt bother me at all, but if its got no bonnet or bumper then i defo wouldnt be paying 500 quid for it.
