Another "what's that film" thread

    Hi,

    I'm wracking my brain to remember the name of a film made in the 1980's, possibly 1970's, a sci-fi futuristic film. It was set in the year 2050 with the government controlling people's IQ with headphones. It's against the law to be smart and the protagonist attends udnerground chess games, etc. (yeah, nerd cetral). Anyway, he tries to get people to realise what's going on and takes control of the tv station and plays various music etc. to people.

    I found the name for this film about a year ago on Google but can't seem to find it again :mad: Even went to the bother of writing it down but, typically, lost that too.
