    Hi Guys,

I am planning to sit the QFA exams in September 09 and need to find out how i go about registering and all that.

I am currently a final year college student and i am wondering would i be allowed join the Institute of Bankers for the purpose of doing the exams? I know you have to be registered with them or the LIA in order to sit the QFA, so im wondering does it matter that i am a student with regards to which one i join? And which would be better or does it matter really?

I am not too sure about my career path just yet, but i have an interest in Finance so im thinking it wouldnt be a bad idea to have the QFA's under my belt when entering the depressing graduate job market!

    Any Help would be great!

simple as. They'll tell you quick enough. It's a bit of a money making racket IMO. Qualification is not hard to get, and wouldn't inspire a great confidence in its recipients.

I expect it would make you more attractive to prospective employers though.

Thanks uberwolf, i will check it out, thought someone on here might know so it would save me the hassle!

yeah i understand that it isn't that highly recognised in that it isnt going to make you a super advisor or anything!

But i would imagine that it is the highest qualification available with regards entry into the industry. I am just doing it to have under my belt so to speak.

Anyone else have any further info?

You need to become a member for the last two, its the only organisation i know that requires you to become a member before you can qualify to BE a member.
