iPhone Battery Issues

    hi all,

I have an iphone. But I am having issues with its battery life. The battery lasts for max 1 day, mostly not for a full 24 hours. On average, I get usage of about 5 hours out of it, well that is what is displayed on the usage counter but have doubts about it. My main use is txtn 20-30 msgs a day, 2-3 phone calls, some moderate web surfing. I have bluetooth turned off, as is wifi and 3G and only turned on when required.

This is my second iphone, I previously took back the last iphone i had for 2 weeks for similar battery issues. Apple, via O2 replaced it with a new iphone, which i now have for about a week. I have tried to restore it with iTunes but no luck with improving battery.

I am considering going back again about the battery, but if this is the norm for the battery, it is pointless and i dont want to seem like a crank!

Anyone share this, or any advice?

Turn the screen brightness way down and disable location services. That seemed to make a big difference for me. I get about 2 days out of my iphone.

Have both of those done as well. Is it d case that all iPhones have this battery life? Any chance that OS3 will improve battery life?

It is pretty normal. In fact you are getting good battery usage if it lasts for a full day.
Disable wireless when you don't need it. Disable push for email. Disable location. Always remember to turn off the screen.
If I'm using the net it goes down visibly. I have got into a regime of charging at night but sometimes have to charge from usb at work.
Invest in a charger for the car as well. My i phone went from full to zero in an hour and a half using maps as a sat nav.

Really? My battery usually lasts a day and a half, and I use wifi and location services. I do have the brightness turned down, but only because it was too bright.

    Car chargers? Recommendation?

I got a belkin charger. Fused for protection-about 15 quid out of halfords.

I have noticed myself that when using data while tavelling along (such as the bus or train journey) that the battery drains at a rapid rate probably as a result of jumping from one cell tower to the next for reception.
