Bikini wax for overweight women? Hurt?

Hey ladies, just wondering how painful is waxing for someone overweight? In theory, it would surely be much more painful as the skin wouldn't be as tight as someone slimmer.... I don't fancy shaving the whole time and even though I'd be SO embarrassed getting a wax, I'd love it if I could!! frown.gif

I don't think it has anything to do with your weight, it's more painful the closer you get to the pubic bone.
The first few times are a bit uncomfortable but once you get used to it you should find it ok. Also it's over before you know it.

makes little difference, you're asked to pull on your skin when they're doing it so just pull tight! and a good waxist (not a word i know!!) won't be too bad. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

Try going to somewhere that does "hot wax", hey don't use fabric strips they just allow the really hot wax to cool down and then whip it off, it's so much better than the strips. You should look into laser removal too, lots of places are dong 70% off!!

Hmmm I know what waxing involves but even the words "whip it off" makes me shudder....... :)
I know it's going to be painful, but ye reckon it shouldn't be any more painful than normal??

nah its not at all. and it's actually not as painful as you think it will be anyway :)

the whip it off bit was meant to help ha!!

there is a bear in the big blue house song that bear sings to O Joe when he's taking off a plaster "just say oww say it now, just say oww and it's over" just think of that and you'll be grand!!!

Definately not. And don't be self concious about your weight or about them seeing Lady Penelope (sad I know!). They have seen it all before, usually the only one to get embarrassed is the person getting the wax but that will change in time too.
What type of wax are you thinking of getting?

Well am not sure yet. Nothing too adventurous. Not the Hollywood or whatever one it is that has EVERYTHING gone. Where can I see the different ones??

Definitley self conscious about my weight. It's doubtful I'll even be seen in any swimwear [was disgusted trying on shorts today, couldn't even fit into the size 18 ones, although I think they were a smaller fit, but that's another story] :(

You should always get a hot wax when waxing that area as it's better for sensitive skin so don't get strip wax down there (fine for the legs but prob very painful when getting bikini).

Once you exfoliate properly you should be grand whatever you get. A californian is the one where you are left with a landing strip on the pubic bone & along the labia (if that's the right word, lips of the vagina). I started off getting a californian & have since decided the hollywood is the best for me, things are more sensitive if you know what I mean & I mean in a good way :D

I wouldn't worry too much about sizing in clothes to be honest. I can vary from a size 12 to a size 16 depending on the fit & even a size 16 doesn't fit me right at times even though I am a size 12. Sure I'm always on a quest to lose weight but at the end of the day I know I look like a woman should, I have boobs, I have an ass & I have hips. Women are meant to have curves so it's just a case of finding the right styles & sizes :)

Thanks very much :) Makes me a feel a bit better - was on a right downer when I came back today. Yes yes sensitive in a good way [my bf likes it all gone] but it's such a nuisance with shaving! Thanks for your help :)

I had it done once before and never again. It was sooo painful. But it did make sex sooo good. I just didnt like the experience of hot wax being spread all over my vagina and then it being whipped off. x

    Are they?

yip! they've already invested in the machine and noone is getting it done so they have to do something!

I know two places in Dundrum currently running the promotion and I'm always getting texts from various places with offers of either up to 70% off or pay for legs get bikini for free etc. Would do it myself but can't even afford it at that price!!!

Don't worry, you're not alone. I would be in the same position as you, I'm very self conscious about my weight. Hate wearing swimming suits and try to cover up my tummy as much as I can. I got my first wax a few months ago in Brazilia in South William Street. I opted for a Brazilian Basic, which meant all the hair was removed underneath including the lips, but with a bikini look on the top. I felt this was a better choice for me because I wouldn't be comfortable with it being fully bare if you know what I mean I'm getting my second wax next week and I will also be getting it done. As someone said, it's definitely a lot more sensitive. ;)

The whole process of waxing, yes, it's embarrasing. The main reason why I was embarrassed was because of my stomach. But I had to get that out of my head and remind myself that it will be worth it in the end. She starts off by rubbing some sort of soothing oil to act as a film so your skin doesn't get pulled, then puts on the hot wax, its not too hot though, just warm I say! She does a couple bits at a time varying in locations. She might do the bikini line one min and then go down to do the lips the next.. She leaves the wax to cool and then "whips" it off... She immediately covers the skin and rubs its.

For me, I found the leg wax was way more painful than the BB. She used the strip wax for the legs but used Lycon Hot Wax for the BB. I definitely recommend the Brazilian Basic for first timers.

    Good luck with it :)
