Im wondering if someone can help me with this. Im currently making a poster for my thesis so its quite important

Basically im wondering how (what option in photoshop) do you use to to remove a background? (Make the background Invisible)

    Better explanation -

    77683.png

This image has an invisible background, so I could copy and paste this picture into another picture and there would just be the horse, no white background added).

The image above is to be part of my poster. It has a white background , which I want to remove. How do I do this with photoshop?

Ive noticed that these pics with no background are .png, I tried saving in that format but it didn't work. Sorry If this question has already been asked but Im in a tight spot and I tried to search with google but I couldn't find an answer

    - Thx

In photoshop, Ctrl+N then change the background contents to transparent. You can then copy and paste your image into this.

In photoshop, go to file, save for web and devices, and png is an option on the save as menu there.

Thanks a lot guys! you have been great help

I had some issues with selection>colour range but I managed it in the end and pasted to transparent sheet. My poster is now looking quite spiffy :D

    Thanks again
