Does anyone know any reason why the two rear wheels on my Volvo C30 will not come off. I tried to change around the tires last week and the front two were grand but not for love or money would the rear two budge. I used every tool that I had available and even cracked the fxxxk n volvo sign on my alloy.

I know I should prob go to a tyre place now but its very annoying as what happens if i get apuncture in the middle of nowhere.

Anyone care to offer advice or a reason for this ????

What you need is a big hammer, The wheels are just stuck on give the tyre a real good smack, are the c30 rear wheel drive??

Just put two wheel nuts on loose before you whack it so the tyre dont fly off into the sunset.

Also use and axel stand dont attempt this on a jack

are the c30 rear wheel drive??

They're based on a similar platform to the Focus, so are front wheel drive.

I'd say the problem is that the bolts were tightened too tight with one of those electronic bolt drills.

I had this a while back.
The alloy bonded to the hub and WOULD NOT come off, even after using a 5lb lump and a large piece of wood.
I ended up havng to undo all of the bolts, lowering the jack to it's lowest setting and dry-steering to car to try break the bond. It still wouldn't go, so I had to WD40 the brake hub and let it soak. THEN it came off with a crunch.
The jack held the car sufficiently to prevent it from hitting the ground.
I user copper slip on the hub after that...

Another of the 1001 uses of WD40 - eh...?

    Hi
I have experienced this twice over the past few months when changing punctures, my girlfriends Hyundai Coupe wheel would not come off but luckily she called the AA & they came out and removed it with a lump of wood & hammer.
I had the same problem with my Volvo S40 2005, so I loosened the nuts & drove the car around the car park until the wheel shifted on the hub, jacked it up & it fell off.
Spoke to my garage & they said it was build up of corrossion on the hub & as the tolerance is so fine it causes the rim to jam on. During the service I mentioned it to the garage & they put a copper grease on all four hubs so the problem won't happen again.
