Judging by the events listing in Irish Vintage Scene, they seem to be a very active club. Sean McGreevey is the contact.

    Hi all
Have seen some listings selling and looking for classics. I'm unfortunately having to part ways with my beloved 95 320E Coupe (An old man named cowen and his friends are short of a few quid, so my possesions must go). I'm a member of the mercedes club, for all you other members, its on the site in the members area. anyone who might have an interest please drop me a line and I'll be happy to take it to you for a look and give some more details.

The official (MB-funded) Mercedes Club for Ireland is an off-shoot of the UK club - there are Irish branches for the four provinces, and there are regular runs in the spring/summer/autumn and a monthly pub meeting all year round.

You should send him a PM via the "send message" option on his profile page, as he's not online so much these days.

Patti, if you Txt me your address, I will post you a membership form. They now have a New Euro form, which is for Ireland. It is E 53 to join. Each Province has a Regional Organiser, their contact details are on the application form. I hope this helps. 0873939558.

Patti, also, if you are within driving distance of Limerick, there is a Classic Car Show there Next Sun. 24th May. It is taking place in Limerick Race Course. The Mercedes-Benz Club will be having a stand there, so you could display your Merc, and also join the club on the day.

    Hi all

    Sorry for similar post.

To join will I just pay online select EU Member £48.00 and add my details. Will the club comeback to me with the Irish contacts?

Or am I better off going through (Joining the club) via the Irish club affiliates.

I am based in Wicklow, any help would be great

    Thanks

Join online, for convenience, and you will receive the monthly club Gazette, which will contain details for the Leinster area co-ordinator, and the monthly meeting, but if you want to contact him before you receive your first Gazette, he is at turlough.mullen@mercedes-benz-club.co.uk

Hi guys, still here, just lurking mainly !

The background to the Club's presence in Ireland is that in the early 90's there was some activity when UK members visited Ireland on a tour. The Northern Ireland representative, now a Club Director, made staunch efforts to gain members in the South and with many NI Members regularly visited shows around the Country to build momentum. In the mid/late 90's it started to pay off with an enthusiast from Dublin rallying up the troups as it were. Remember this was all done by post & phone back then, no easy challenge and very time consuming.

I joined in 1999 roughly the time the regime in the UK was changing and email was the more popular method. I contributed to the Gazette on many occasions and I attended all the shows in Leinster and in 2002 I enquired if it would be possible to take things up a level and copy the UK regions ideas of monthly pub meetings & road runs. We started in the Coachmans Inn at Swords, 12 people came, though through the winter it was sparse. By spring '03 it took off and we never looked back. We changed venue a few times, Red Cow etc.. before settling on Keilys Pub. The membership grew and we were invited annually to attend UK meetings where I accepted an award for contributions to the Club as we had the biggest increase in numbers of any region (all of Ireland). Through the terrific help & encouragement of other members we persuaded people to set up Pub meetings in each province, which happened quickly. My time grew more precious (kids) and thankfully several members in Dublin increased their help, Tom & Turlough in particular ( & partners). Our attendance at shows improved and we won "Best Club Stand" at Terenure in 2005 with terrific support from the Chairman Ian Keers who attended. I bowed out of arrangements shortly after this as the aforementioned chaps had far better organisational skills and were far better equipped to deal with the running of the Irish sections.

I continue to be a background member and always will. If anyone wishes to contact please feel free to do so however I do not handle membership anymore and am officially not an "official" :D

I would just say that the Club is for ALL Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and owners, new/classic and enjoys the luxury of very casual atmosphere, with a great magazine and information systems.
