What car should I buy for €5,000?

Hi there

Myself and the missus have about €5,000 to spend on a car. I have driven for 5 years and am used to saloons(parents car) while she is a beginner. With our budget and with her inexperience I was thinking of getting something small so was thinking of getting a Toyota Xaris but will consider anything really.

I want something cheap to run, reliable and not too feminine! Would you recommend I go to a dealer or private? What websites are good? Is there better value in the North?

I was going to suggest a Fiesta before seeing the Rio. Easily overlooked but the new model Rio is a decent car. Drove one a few times and its not bad at all

Yeah that Kia doesn't look too bad. The badge of the car doesn't bother me. Anyone else have a suggestion?

you may as well consider the Hyundai Accent in that case too, essentially the same car as the Rio.
